Residential moving
Residential moving means taking everything in a home from the old address to the new one by truck. Disassembly, wrapping, loading, transport, unloading and reassembly are all done by the same crew.
How long it takes depends on how much you own and how many stairs are involved. Most local 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom moves finish in one day. Larger homes and walk-up apartments on upper floors can need another half day.

Process
The move in six steps
- 01
Inventory
We walk through each room by video, photos or an in-home survey. The garage, basement, attic and patio go on the list too, because the truck size depends on them.
- 02
Written estimate and date
The price, moving date, start time and inventory go into a written estimate. If the inventory stays the same, the number does not change on moving day.
- 03
Disassembly and wrapping
Bed frames, tables and large dressers are taken apart. Furniture is wrapped in moving pads, screens in foam, and hardware is bagged and labeled to its piece.
- 04
Loading and securing
Heavy items go on the bottom and lighter boxes on top. Each tier is strapped in place, and boxes marked fragile ride in their own section.
- 05
Transport
The truck goes straight to the new address with no transfer to another vehicle. On longer drives you get location updates along the way.
- 06
Unloading and setup
Boxes go to the rooms written on their labels and furniture is set up. We check every item against the inventory and both sides sign the delivery form.

FAQ
Questions about this service
How long does a local move take?
A local 2-bedroom move usually takes 6 to 8 hours including loading, the drive and unloading. A 4-bedroom home or an upper-floor walk-up can take the full day.
Do you take apart and reassemble furniture?
Yes. We take apart bed frames, entertainment centers and modular shelving and set them up again in the new home. Let us know in advance about wall-mounted items or built-in appliances.
What happens if something breaks during the move?
The damage is written on the delivery paperwork the same day and photographed, and the claim process starts. The steps are on the valuation and claims page.
Can the price change on moving day?
Not if the inventory matches the estimate. If large items are added later, the crew tells you about the change before any work continues.
